Week 1 Reflection - HNC

After this weeks session I feel that I have a good basic understanding of life casting after reading sections from "Special Make-up Effects for Stage & Screen: Making and Applying Prosthetics" book by Todd Debreceni and watching a couple of demonstrations on youtube and in person. I feel that today we worked really well as team to follow the current health and safety regulations regarding COVID 19 while also creating 2 successful face casts using alginate and Hercules plaster. I do feel that I have decent product knowledge on what can be used within life casting.

I feel that because there was a large group of us (5 in total) swarming around the model, it was often rather hard to navigate around the model and help out during the casting. I think this was intensified by working with quick setting products and the fact we all were trying to have a go at casting.

To work on this week I want to work on my Unit 1 research proposal and create a simple draft before getting confirmation from my tutor that im going down the correct path before possibly start my research. Due to circumstances I cannot make any more progress or planning on my Unit 25 until confirmation about final assessment event however I do have backup if these plans fall through.
