This was our first week back into college after the Christmas break and unfortunately to the COVID-19 pandemic and the government guidelines we could not go back into college. This now means that until we hear from the Government that it is safe to go back into college we will be working virtually together on Google meet. We started off the morning in our theory session looking at our first 2 new assignments we will be working on. These are Unit 21 communications project and Unit 31 Period Hair and Makeup. We stated off with 21 as that was our theory tutors assignment - as this is a similar format to our previous essays within term 1 I felt that we all grasped the idea of this assignment very quickly. Together we walked through and discussed the learning objectives of the assignment and we given 2 weeks to complete this first learning objective.
Now moving onto Unit 31, we unfortunately did not have our practical tutor present for the delivery of this assignment so I am kind of struggling with this unit. We did the same thing of walking through the assignment together and the learning objectives but as I have already said I think I am going to struggle with this assignment as it is period and a different type of essay to what we have done before. Again, like with unit 21 we have been given 2 weeks to get the first learning objective done, hopefully I will be able to do that.
This blog post is a little shorter as we didn't have an afternoon session as our tutor couldn't get online to join the call; another one of the many annoying things of online learning :(
