This morning we started out again by looking at unit 2 as I had started to work on the project a little more and had a couple questions which needed answering for me to progress any further. We mainly looked at the brief together and picked it apart to make sure we were all confident in what it was asking off us and we also cleared up what needed to be handed in for the 1st April. This was an essay, CV and CPD logs of what we have done so far. We then went on to discuss CV’s a bit and during that discussion we realised that a lot of our CV’s were out of date as during COVID a lot of us haven’t needed to update them because we were not applying to new jobs etc. I suggested that we possibly have a little CV writing session with Kim Coulthard as I know that she is a wiz when it comes to CV writing and so we have set that up for next week. After this we then discussed where we were at with our current work and made sure that all work was handed in from term 1. As I am a very organised person, all of my work was handed in with plenty of time and was all marked and submitted finally so I had nothing to worry about here. During this time I got myself set up for doing some more face charts and other paper work on my computer. We then went on to discuss the world skills competition. This is a world wide competition (as the name would suggest) where students and other people can compete in tasks and competitions to eventually win an opportunity to travel the world and win the title of your specific area within the competition. For now I have signed up my interest for the competition and am yet to hear any updates from this to then submit a photo of my work in the heats and see If I am considered worthy of competing. From here we then stared to mind map and think of what looks we possibly wanted to do if we got into the competition. Here are a coupe of my ideas that I considered doing. Overgrown pressed flowers stuck on the face - editorial
Bee attack (swollen eye)
Glam Abraham Lincoln
Jessica rabbit
Litchen on trees and camouflage looks
Elements (earth wind fire)
Corpse of Patsy Stone
Pompeii (fullers earth)
crumbling statue
Buried alive - revamp of Marie Antoinette look
Frankenstein’s bride
Mad Hatter
Mugler inspired maybe
Leonardo Da Vinci inspired
Into the afternoon we were sort of left to get on with work and so I carried on working on my Unit 31 project while I haded in a formative submission of my essay and portfolio for my tutor to look over to see if I was on the right track and see if there was anything that was needed to be added to ensure that I would achieve that high distinction grade that I want for this huge project. The feedback I got was some what successful, there were some edits that I needed to ensure that I included within my introduction on essay and then some comments to do with my evaluation pages when achieving my LO4. Below is the image of my comments received.
